Advantages:

1. High strength: Polyester boasts exceptional strength, with almost no difference in its tensile strength between wet and dry conditions.
2. Excellent elasticity: Its elasticity is close to that of wool, and it is not prone to creases.
3. Good heat resistance: Owing to its high melting point, it exhibits outstanding heat resistance and thermal insulation properties.
4. Corrosion resistance: It can resist erosion by a variety of chemicals, including certain acids and alkalis.
5. Superior light fastness: Among natural fibers, it has a relatively strong resistance to sunlight fading.

Disadvantages:

1. Poor hygroscopicity: This can lead to a stuffy feeling when worn and a tendency to generate static electricity.
2. Difficult dyeing: Due to its molecular structure, polyester is challenging to dye, yet the colors retain their vibrancy well after dyeing.
3. Pilling tendency: It may develop pilling after a period of use.
